Thank you for being part of Ashburton Swimming Pool — your community‑run pool that relies on care, respect, and shared responsibility.

To keep our water clean, safe, and affordable for everyone, please take a moment to follow these simple but important steps:

🚿 Shower before entering the pool A quick rinse removes sweat, deodorant, hair products, and everyday grime. When these wash off into the pool, our filters have to work harder and we need more chemicals to rebalance the water. Showering first keeps the water clearer and reduces costs.

🌞 Avoid applying suncream or lotions before swimming Creams and oils come off in the water and coat the filters, making them clog faster. This means more backwashing, more chemicals, and more time spent maintaining the system. Applying suncream after your swim protects both you and the pool.

👙 Wear proper swimwear Clothing like cotton T‑shirts, shorts, or sportswear sheds fibres and dyes into the water. These fibres get trapped in the filtration system and increase maintenance costs. Swimwear is designed to minimise shedding and keep the water cleaner.

🛟 Listen to our lifeguards They’re trained to keep everyone safe and ensure the pool runs smoothly. Following their guidance prevents accidents, protects swimmers, and helps us maintain a calm, enjoyable environment for all.
