Looking for ways you can support your local community run pool?

Ashburton Swimming Pool is a charity and exists because of the fantastic work of many volunteers. Some people volunteer for a few hours a year, offering their professional expertise or helping clear up the pool ready for the season, others volunteer on an ongoing basis helping organise behind the scenes on the committee or volunteering weekly in our café.

Without them, the pool could not stay open because ticket sales for swimming do not cover running costs, as with many other pools.

Volunteer On-Site

  • Reception. We need help on hot, sunny days on reception (this helps to free the lifeguards up to lifeguard).

  • Cafe Shift Work. We need people to volunteer to work in the pool cafe in the busy summer months.

  • Cleaning. Helping clear up the pool ready for the season

  • Ground Maintenance. Help with any building and maintenance projects in the close season

    And not forgetting….having fun with fellow volunteers!

Fundraise

  • Fundraising Officer. Be our Fundraising officer, creating fundraising events and liaising with those fundraising on behalf of the pool

  • Fundraise for the pool

    • Host or help organise events

    • Support local events

    • Raise sponsorship for the pool

  • Social Media Campaigning. You can support us by following, liking and sharing our various activities on our social media channels. Particularly on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter

Sponsorship

  • Sponsorship Officer. Be our Sponsorship officer and help to set up sponsorship arrangements & promotions with local businesses

  • Sponsor The Pool. If you work for a local business and would like to find out more about our sponsorship opportunities or to sponsor the pool we’d love to hear from you.
