Our Trustees & Committee
-
Dave Glenton - Trustee & Chair
Dave grew up in Manchester and lived in Yorkshire and Warwickshire before moving to Ashburton with his wife Joc in 2008.
In 2019 he was somehow talked in accepting the role of Chair of the Pool where he has the pleasure of coordinating our brilliant team of trustees, staff, and volunteers.
By day he is a Lead Engineer for local technology company Amulet Hotkey developing embedded hardware and software for remote working technology.
When not juggling the whims of his four children, he can be found cycling around the lanes of Dartmoor, sailing his Drascombe Longboat or canoeing around the beautiful Devon coastline. He also helps train SDCC's 10-Tors teams.

Chris Waugh - Trustee & Treasurer
Chris joined the trustees as treasurer in December 2019, he is responsible for day to day financial operations, monitoring & reporting the pool’s financial health, financial governance, the annual report for the November public meeting, and statutory returns to the Charity Commission.
He was born in Liverpool, was brought up in London, and spent many years in South Devon, including Ashburton, while studying in Plymouth. After living in London & on the Essex Coast, he moved back to Ashburton, to where he always knew he would return, in 2019.

-
Sarah Perry - Committee
Sarah has been involved with the pool since 2017. She helps with planning, timetabling, events and private hire as well as some of the behind-the-scenes admin.
Sarah would like to encourage other people to get involved and join the committee, saying “it’s a really nice team and a great way to contribute to the community. I love that the town is so supportive and am proud that we continue to have a pool in Ashburton despite Teignbridge stopping their funding''.
-
Jez Ralph - Committee
Jez, a keen swimmer, got involved in the pool as an antidote to office work when he moved to Ashburton. After a year or so volunteering, Jez became Trustee for the pool, responsible for pool plant and water quality. This role mainly involves hiding in the plant-room, obsessing over the air-source heat pumps and the cleanliness of the water.
More recently he has stepped back to be part of the committee but is still obsessed with water quality and helping out in the plant room.
-
Lynne Holmes - Committee
Lynne has had involvement with the pool and pool cafe on and off since 2016. At present she is responsible for recruiting and organising the volunteers to run the cafe.
Lynne says "I have lived in Ashburton for 24 years and like to get involved in community activities since retiring from the NHS. I love swimming and it means a great deal to keep the pool open to young and old".
-
Finn Clark - Committee
A keen swimmer herself, Finn keeps tabs on the swimming pool emails, answering general queries or forwarding them on the team’s various experts to deal with!
-
Cat Howard - Pool Manager
Cat joined us at the pool in 2024. She runs a local fitness business and used to teach at the secondary school, so has good connections to the town. She manages the day-to-day running of the pool, including looking after the lifeguards, organising events and posting on social media.
