Exciting News from Ashburton Swimming Pool Trustees

The Trustees are pleased to announce that Ashburton Swimming Pool will be reopening for the summer season in 2025! The pool will be open from the end of May through to September (exact dates to be confirmed).

As many of you know, we've faced significant challenges with leaks in the deep end of the pool, as well as other maintenance issues. We can now report that we have successfully raised enough funds to carry out the necessary repairs to the deep end which will reduce the main leaks whilst we fundraise for a full lining. Work is set to begin in mid-March and is expected to take approximately six weeks, ensuring the pool is ready to welcome swimmers in May 2025.

While this vital repair work will not fully resolve the leak issue, it represents a crucial step forward. Combined with new water management policies, these repairs will help us maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for the community to gather, swim, and create lasting memories for years to come.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Ashburton community for their support throughout this challenging period. Your contributions, encouragement, and patience have been essential in making this project a reality. Without your collective effort, we wouldn't have been able to secure the funds or the momentum needed to ensure the pool’s future.

A special thank you also goes to Ashburton Town Council for their ongoing commitment to the pool. Their generous financial contribution to address the leak, along with their leadership in organising a public consultation to approve a necessary increase in the precept, has been crucial in securing the long-term sustainability of this beloved community resource.
