Ashburton Swimming Pool Public Notice (May 2025)

Ashburton Swimming Pool is currently undergoing essential repairs. During this process, significant damage was discovered in the deep end of the pool, which has been more significant than we or the contractors had anticipated. This has required an extensive rebuild of the deep end wall.

As a result, the repair work is taking longer than initially expected. The contractors involved have also experienced unforeseen delays, which have further impacted the timeline.

These delays have affected the schedule for refilling, heating, and balancing the pool water. The Trustees and Pool Manager are continuing to work to ensure the pool is opened for the 2025 season.

A recent enquiry was made regarding fundraising efforts, excluding funding from the precept and Town Council: Since 1 January 2025, the pool has received £4,714.74 in donations, broken down as follows:

·                     £3,100 from local organisations and businesses

·                     £234 from the Teignbridge Lottery

·                     The remaining amount from a fundraising bike ride, individual donations, and collection tins 

·                     Additionally £358 of this total has been claimed as Gift Aid
