20 Pool Heroes Campaign

On Mon 2nd October 2023 Ashburton Pool launched its 20 Pool Heroes Campaign to raise £100,000.

The pool is financially sustainable but urgently requires structural repairs which must be carried out in order for the it to re-open in 2024.

We are looking for 20 Heroes (individuals, groups, consortiums, businesses, families) to donate or raise £5,000 each. In return, each “Hero” will be given a plaque on the “wall of heroes” for the next 10 years.

Some ideas for Heroes that still don’t have a Hero coordinator…

  • We have been offered an orchard full of apples to raise money but we need a group to pick (juice?) and sell them. They are ready immediately

  • We need someone to distribute tins and buckets around Ashburton and organise tin shakes at supermarkets and train stations (it’s possible to raise £500 per day at a supermarket with enthusiastic tin-shakers)

  • We’re hoping to sell sponsorship on the changing room doors. If you’re interested in helping/advertising, let us know

  • Ashburton doesn’t have a pub quiz at the moment. Could the pool change that and run a regular night?

  • We often think of shops when we think of local businesses - but there are plenty more businesses in the area. We’d love someone to approach the offices and small businesses and keep records of who’s been contacted

  • Do you have another idea? Do you need help or permission? Please get in touch: info@ashburtonpool.com
