We are very excited to be opening the pool in May and preparations are underway for the opening date of the 28th.
UPDATE… We are sorry for the complication in getting into the pool this year, we hope you understand the ever changing situation we find ourselves in and can bare with us. As lockdown measures ease we will endeavour to open up the pool to the maximum we are able. We have made the decision to delay the availability of the online booking system until the 21st May to bring us in line with the next stage in the Governments Roadmap. This will ensure that the sessions available will reflect what is allowed. We will update the sessions available below as the situation changes
Obviously, things will be very different this season, but we hope you can bear with us through this year and back out to normality. There are some rules we have to adhere to and some things that will make us more flexible to the ever-changing situation.
SOME CHANGES FOR THIS YEAR:
Online bookings only
All sessions will need to be pre-booked and pre-paid online via our online booking system. We expect to have this system up and running very soon. There will be no bookings or payments at the pool this season, so no need to remember cash or membership cards.
No changing rooms
You can leave your towels and belongings under the large canopy at the end of the pool, but please arrive ready to swim; beach-ready. The toilets will be open!! When booking half the pool a dedicated ‘changing area’ will be available.
Sadly we do not anticipate opening the cafe this year. You are very welcome to bring a picnic, please remember no glass. All food needs to be consumed within your allotted swim time.
So that we can adapt as we go and get as many people into the pool as possible, we will not to print a fixed timetable this year. Instead you will be able to use our online booking system to see availability.
As of April, the plan is for the following:
Lane sessions – 45 minute swim session. This is open to swimmers aged 12 and above and costs £5* per session. *See online booking system for information on reductions.
Half-Pool Hire – 45-minute swim session. (£25*) Maximum of 12 people per booking (whether swimming or on the side, please see child supervision info below.) The pool will be divided into two sections, lengthwise from shallow to deep end with a rope. Each half of the pool will have a dedicated ‘changing area’. The 12 must be made up according to Government Guidelines at the time of attendance. This currently means that you can have a group of any 6 people or for groups larger than 6 this must be made up from a maximum of two households (and their support bubbles).
Private Hire – 2 hour – for parties, events, activities. You have use of the whole pool with lifeguards, the kitchen, the field and play area £60/hr, 2 hours minimum booking. Numbers dependent on covid restrictions at the time, please contact us for more details.
Block bookings for schools, clubs, businesses etc. We are really chuffed that schools are booking again this year to get children water confident and active. Please contact Sarah Perry to find out more about block bookings whatever your organisation.
Supervision of children
A responsible adult 16+ may bring 2 children under the age of 8 into the pool, with any under-4s wearing an attached buoyancy aid. The adult must be in the water with the children at all times. Where under-4s are not wearing an attached buoyancy aid, the ratio is 1:1 because the shallow end is 0.7 metres deep.
Please bear with us through this summer and check our website regularly for updates. We understand that access to the pool will unfortunately be more restrictive this season, but our aim is to have as many people safely enjoying the pool as possible and we are working behind the scenes to increase access to swimming.
*For regular swimmers or for those who would benefit from financial assistance, 10% or 20% discounts will be available online.
