The Portreeve, Nick Laity, and 24 others from Ashburton will leave Cleder Place on the 31st of May and return on the 4th of June having completed the challenge of a 500km bike ride to Ashburton’s twin town Cleder to raise funds for the pool. Nick says,
We will cycle 5 consecutive days, totalling over 500km’s. We will be taking in 2 of the top 10 climbs in the UK on the first day, and whilst in France, the two highest points in Brittany. In total, we’ll climb over 18000ft.
On day 3 we meet up in Cleder and the cycling club there will take us on a 120km ride of their choice!
This challenge is going to be extremely tough, but we decided that it has to be tough enough for people to want to donate.
We have support vehicles and drivers in place, all of which is funded by the riders, including their own costs. It is obvious how much it means to everybody.
I think the reason so many people have gotten behind this, is because our pool is now community run, community funded (some of the trustees are riding) and run by some amazing volunteers. Without fundraising the pool will certainly close, so please donate and help keep the pool open, so we can continue to enjoy it for many years.

Thanks so much for any support you can give, below is the link to the donation page.
